Reflect on who you want to be in this coming year through the music, themes and ideas of Yom Kippur.

Hear student voices on the burning issues of the day, join together for aliyot to the Torah, and reflect on the role of mental health in our wellness and wellbeing with Dean Varun Soni, PhD, dean of religious life at the University of Southern California.

Beyond the Book

An audacious take on the High Holidays with some of the greatest thinkers, artists, authors and musicians of today.

Who will live and who will die… and how does this impact who we are and who we want to be?

This Yom Kippur, join the Higher Holidays Beyond the Book experience as we tackle these questions and more with the help of futurist Jason Silva from Shots of Awe, music from singer Shaina Taub, conversation with Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting survivor Cameron Kasky, Gotham star David Mazouz, actor Alex Lange and more.

Yizkor & Neilah

As Yom Kippur draws to a close and the gates of prayer and repentance begin to shut, we take a moment to reflect on those who we have lost, while focusing on the people we want to become and the kind of world we want to help create.

Featuring the Grammy-nominated duo The Milk Carton Kids, scholar, singer, and storyteller Jeremiah Lockwood of The Sway Machinery, a digital “Book of Remembrance,” animation by director Rachel Fleit and the final, life-affirming sound of the shofar, that answers the call: This Is How We Rise.
