Shabbat and Holidays
Shabbat
Every week during the school year, Cleveland Hillel provides students with a Shabbat dinner and services at our building adjacent to Case Western Reserve University. The services are student run and start at 6:00 PM. Following services is Shabbat dinner at 7:00 PM, where students are able to have a great kosher meal and hang out with their friends. Friday night Shabbat meals also are occasionally sponsored in the community and at the apartments of graduate students.
Cleveland Hillel also provides students with an option of home hospitality at the homes of Jewish families in the Cleveland area and the opportunity to attend services at local synagogues. For questions or more information contact contact us online

If you are interested in attending any of the different synagogues and temples in the Cleveland area or want to be connected with a host family in the community for Shabbat or Holidays please contact us online as we can help you arrange this.
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
Cleveland Hillel sponsors meals and services at our building adjacent to Case Western Reserve University. Both services and meals are free of charge for all students attending any college or university in the area. Specific information about the times for both services and meals is available about a month prior to Rosh Hashanah. We request that you RSVP for both services and meals by filling out this form.
Cleveland Hillel also provides students with an option of home hospitality at the homes of Jewish families in the Cleveland area and the opportunity to attend services at local synagogues for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. For questions or more information contact contact us online
Sukkot, Shimini Atzeret. and Simchat Torah
A sukkah is build at the Cleveland Hillel building which is available for Holiday meals, Shabbat dinner, and various activities during Sukkot at all the campuses we serve. Information about these are posted on the web site as they are planned.
Students interested in celebrating Shmini Atzeret and/or Simchat Torah have many options to celebrate these Holidays in the greater Cleveland area.

Passover
Both Seders are held at the Cleveland Hillel building adjacent to Case Western Reserve University. There is a minimal cost for the seders and this information is available about two weeks prior to the Holiday. We request that you RSVP for the seder/s by filling out this form. The Hillel kitchen is made Kosher for Passover about a week before the Holiday.
Cleveland Hillel also provides students interested in home hospitality for the seders the opportunity to be hosted at the homes of Jewish families in the Cleveland area.
There is also the opportunity for students to organize their own seder/s in their apartments or in their residential community on campus. For questions or more information contact us online
